Not the same picture. Look at the bottom edges. The ones in the forum mockup are considerably more tapered in both shots. The area to grab and open the magnetic latch is much wider in the digg photo, and the IR sensor is in a different place. The forum mockup shows MBA style flip covers on the ports, the digg photo does not. While the keyboards are the same style, they are at the very least photoshopped together from two different pics. And the lid is thicker in the digg photo. (geez, this is turning into a "Can you spot the differences between these two pics?")

Honestly, the digg photo doesn't look real to me (too soft looking), but they clearly are not the same image.

I just saw this too on digg. Doesn't look real to me.

What are those icons on the Dock? Doesn't look like the standard set of items on the Dock of Apple's promotional photos.

Yes it is the same picture, try scrolling down.

for the lazy who can't stand clicking a link haha.

I dunno the top of the lid doesn't look like it matches the bottom of the laptop, but overall very well done. Also I can't see Apple throwing their logo on the top right of the ad like that, doesn't seem to fit their flow.

It is obviously a mock up, however if the design is what this is showing, I am SOLD! I will put my current MBP on eBay so fast! The black keyboard is from the Air which is nice. This made my day, whether if it is real or not.

The screen bezel looks too big - too much space around the screen, looks like an old Thinkpad 12.1" with the big margins around the screen. The black chicklet keyboard looks like a Sony. All in all, I don't see the attraction, or the 'Apple-ness' of the fake mock-up, at least I don't see what the improvement over the existing design is at all. Sign me up as not impressed, and less likely to buy something that looks like that. I'll stick with my current, and soon to be classic, MBP.

If the next revision of the MBP has a slight change in the case, I hope it becomes a classic just like the current MBP. To be honest, the MBP now is nice, however it would be nice to make some changes. You never know, it might grow on you.

im going to say its a fake as theres no kensignton lock and no DVI port screw holes. unless Apple has totally done away with any locking mechanism? and also it looks like the power button is off-centre… like its actually from the Air?

of course no one will know what it will look like until it is released.

Well, there could be some improvements that actually served a purpose, rather than change for change's sake. Make the HD user-accessible, beef up the flimsy power cord from the power adapter, a bit more travel in the hinge, perhaps slightly more rounded where the wrists contact the palm rests. But there's nothing wrong with the current keyboard. I'd make the built-in camera have more resolution. But I hope Apple doesn't get radical with the MBP just to compete with all the pc laptops out there. None of them even yet have a design and look anywhere as classy as the 4-5 yr old MBP design. That's the thing about good design - it stands the test of time. Class (in design) holds up, and always looks good, because it's about form and funtion, not about the latest fashion trend. Some slight functional 'softening' of anything classic is acceptable, but it has to remain recognizable both in how it appears, and how it works/feels to the touch. I have to assume Apple has this down pretty well, and the changes will the right ones. I hope!

I dont know if any of you have noticed but it looks like cyberduck is in the dock and last i checked apple didnt advertise there macs with 3rd party apps. And the address book is in the wrong spot.

looks believable to me. would be nice if they showed some specs. if they cripple the mbp just so it looks more like the air, it will be goodbye mac hello hackintosh for me...

You hit it right there. A user friendly way to replace the hard drive would make a lot of sense to make the consumer happy. If I want anything to change is a vent to blow hot air out besides the one behind the keyboard. Also, a chiclet keyboard would be nice and a magnetic latch to close the laptop.
