Yeah, this is terrible. Especially when you consider that more money actually goes to the artist and not the RIAA or some other middle man fleecing the artist.
Technology is basicly enabling what I will coin right now as C2C (Creator to Consumer). This is a good thing. Indie bands no longer have to sell their soul to get distribution and consumers get a good price and only the parts they want.
