on our local network (Xserve) we are all part of the same server "Group" with all file access privileges (incase one of us is out of the office another can pick up the work). However if the file is created or saved locally... on one of our desktops... then dragged (copied) to the server it become locked (dead only or no access) to all others wether they are in the group or not!
