Hi all

On startup my Powerbook G3 Wallstreet screen is fine until after the initial Apple logo, then when the progress bar goes along it goes dark. I then have to make the backlight come on again by pushing the brightness button. Anyone have any clues?

Running OSX (which is fine apart from this problem) tried the reset feature and repair permissions but has no effect.

My battery is dead so it's always on the powercord,

Help.

Happened on a Tibook I used to have.

Sounds like the inverter cable. But it goes bright after you hit bright button?

Time to upgrade to a Pismo?

Yep, goes bright after hitting the brightness button,

the machine is only for general internet use, don't really want to spend any money getting a new one because my main machine is a Imac G5

Is the inverter cable easy to fit?
