I know this is probably a stupid question but when I play an album it doesn't play the whole album it just keeps playing the first song. How do I fix this?

iPod touch Question regarding continuous song play

There are two repeat options. Repeat playlist or repeat song. Is there a "1" over the repeat icon?
please forgive me, I just got this thing. At the top of the list of songs on the album it says shuffle.
