iChat won't recognize camera

My friend video chat won't work but his photobooth will take pictures. Instead of the normal Video section, his screen sharing and camera enabled lines are greyed out and unchecked *see below*. What can he do to fix this? I think it has to be a problem with iChat considering photbooth works fine...
