I just found this on the iTunes features page:

Browse the iTunes Store for television shows from Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Nine Network, MTV, Disney Channel, Nickelodeon and many more. Watch 30-second previews, then buy the episodes you want for just $3.59 inc GST.

They're nowhere to be seen inside iTunes itself, but maybe they're coming soon. That price is in NZ dollars; it's different from the Australian price so it's not just a copy and paste.

Happening Now?

Just went on to the NZ itunes store and noticed that there is a new category for TV Programs however there is nothing there right now could be happening soon

I really hope this happens

I'm seeing the same category here. Nothing in it yet though.

I heard a whisper of an iTunes-related announcement tomorrow but didn't pay any attention until now...

i wonder why they would call it TV Programs rather than TV shows which is what the section is called in other parts of the world

Localisation. They're typically known as programmes rather than shows here, so iTunes calls them programmes.
