Have I missed something? I was eagerly waiting for a larger-capacity ipod classic (my 160G has only 10G left now...), and now the largest capacity is 120, and is being presented as an "upgrade" from the 80G? Is it not a downgrade from the 160G?
Ok, so answering myself in this monologue...toshiba just announced (AFTER Steve Job's announcement...) the 240GB version of the 1.8" HD...so I guess we SHOULD soon see a 240GB version of the ipod classic...right?

I bloody well hope so, I'll have a bad case of emo if I find that I'm going to have to scour all of New Zealand for someone still selling the 160GB version.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with you. Yes, I, too, regret the phasing out of the classic in all of its (large capacity and excellent battery life) glory. So, yes, I'm also in favour of a 160 GB iPod, - and more - but I suspect that this is not where Apple are going with this product. Perhaps we can hope that larger capacity SSD drives will allow us to have a replacement large capacity iPod in the (relatively) near future.
Cheers
