So, a lot of my library is made of MP3's that I imported into iTunes. There's no album art for them, etc. Will Genius recognize these and/or put them in a playlist with other music?

I could experiment with it for myself, but I'm in Houston... Ike is keeping me from having time to upgrade and install, etc.

Most of the time. So long as it can figure out the particulars, or you have Album and Artist listed.

Yes, as long as the song title and artist are correctly labeled. But it won't work for everything: no Beatles, no classical, no musicals, to name a few.

My Genius doesn't recognise a few of the songs that I've actually bought from iTunes. I know I reformatted the album names after buying them but that's it.

Yes. I made my first Genius playlist starting with a song not purchased in iTunes. Half the songs it added are the same.
