Star Wars The Force Unleashed Released...Kinda

Didn't know how to create a phobos link but i noticed "Star Wars The Force Unleashed" was on the main banner for the app store. Clicked to investigate and says that it was released on the 10th. Never seen it before...

Thumb resize.

Strange thing is that a search doesn't bring it up nor does having a look at THQ's other games. Maybe iTunes needs updating. I couldn't do a review either. Awaiting reviews before purchasing.

Buying the PS3 version, but just bought this for "on the go" fun. Thanks for the heads up.

Should just make this free...for the sake of promoting a bigger price tag item.

Seems like the whole game is gesture-based (draw shapes to kill different enemies) - it's an interesting idea, think I'll wait for a review first though!

It is. It's an on-rails gesture-a-thon. I'll have a HD video shortly up on my site showing how it plays.

I cannot find the Star War's App on iTunes. Has it already been removed?

EDIT: If I hot the link above it will take me to the App. But there is no way to search for it within iTunes...at least for me.

Huh? Why couldn't you download it again? It doesn't incur an additional fee. Once you purchased an app, you can download it again as many times as you want, free.

Oh yes, before that pop up, it WILL tell you that it will charge your credit card (people ask about that so often that I wanted to point that out) so you have to click "buy".

$9.99 sounds reasonable (if the game is any good). My brother will probably get the PS3 version so I don't think I'm interested in this. I'm curious as to the quality of the game.

Companion?

So it's not a full game then?

I guess I'll be getting the Wii version of this game only then.

... I hate companies that put out partial versions of their games and give it the same title. So many "cross platform games" on the DS are just lousy spin-offs of the real game... not even ports. At least Spore for the iPhone was called Spore: Origins so you could distinguish it from the real game and know that it is not in fact the real game and there is a significant difference.

... it made me wary of Peggle for the iPod (which it turns out was almost a perfect duplication of the PC version but at only 1/4 the price I really couldn't care less that replays aren't available and that the character models arn't in 3D. As long as the levels, powerups, and challenges are the same (and duel mode is still included,) then I'll gladly take it. Not so with many other games.

Oddly enough I was unable to find the game in the store, even when I searched. I had to follow the link to purchase.
I just played the first level and it's fun, even though it's pretty easy on normal difficulty. There seem to be quite a few cut-scenes, but the dialog is not spoken, you have to read it. Gameplay is entirely gesture based and you have to defeat any enemies in front of you to continue. I'd say it's worth ten bucks. Good time killer.
Even though I've read the book and know the general plot, I can't wait for the real thing.

BTW as you can tell from my screen name, I am an admitted Star Wars geek, so take my opinions with a grain of salt.
