iPhoto 4: Still no import from scanner?

Am I just missing something or is there still no direct import from scanners in iPhoto?

I've been using either my Epson Scan software or Image Capture and then manually importing the saved file into iPhoto. Is there a better way?
 
It looks like it's just as you said--no direct import. Fortunately, it's an easy step to import the image from the desktop.
 
Hey, I trying to work this issue and found this old thread. From what I've seen, it looks like this is still the case (that I cannot import from scanner).

Am I missing something? 😕
