I got these from a friend , took them home , tried to plug them into my imac g5 , and the socket is too small . I have a 20 in imac g5 , right before they went intel .

Is there a way I can still use the speakers? Im pretty bummed that I cant use em .

There were at least 2 converters before - both the Griffin PowerWave and iFire, but they are both hard to find now and are now pricy.

Are you talking about the G5's headphone jack? If so, there's a cheap converter available for just this situation.

That wouldn't work. These speakers were for a special port that provided amplification (10+10 watts) in those computer models. Through a headphone jack, they'd sound extremely low if at all. They also have an EEPROM in the little cable junction that works with the models designed for them, but it's really for the computer.
