I've noticed that my iMac shows that it has a 800MHz bus, but for some reason the memory that is in it is only 667MHz.

Well I'd like to swap that out with 800Mhz memory. The system was purchased from Apple w/ 4GB Ram... is this something I can just swap out with better memory?

Thanks all!

The FSB and the memory bus operate at two different speeds on some of the machines.

If your machine only needs 667MHz memory, it won't take advantage of 800MHz memory.

And some people have complained that when they tried the faster memory, the machine refused to boot.

Stick with the memory Apple recommends ...
