New Mac Placeholder SKUs in Future Shop's Inventory?

According to an anonymous report, six new Mac placeholder SKUs have appeared in Future Shop's inventory system. While we've been unable to independently verify this at this time, the placement of early "placeholder" part numbers is consistent with inventory practices of some major retailers.

In February, we saw MacBook Pro part numbers in Best Buy's systems about 3 weeks before the release of the new MacBook Pros. Future Shop is a Canadian subsidiary of Best Buy.

Apple has been rumored to be planning new releases for their laptops (and maybe iMacs) before the holidays. The last rumored date pinpointed October 14th for the launch.

So would the six placeholders represent the 3 Macbook models and 3 Macbook Pro models?

I can only hope!

I am in the process of selling my Macbook, and am hoping for a lower price optioned pro that I can move into, all while getting more features at the same time.

Bring on the new MBPs, MBs with new glass multi-touch pads, and perhaps, updated iMacs. Holiday season is rapidly approaching.

I've been waiting for a new MB/MBP for what feels like forever! Let's get some nice mobile graphics and let the SC2/D3 battles begin!

Why 3 + 3? I think it is a revised MBA, 2 MacBooks and 3 MacBook Pros.

Because at present there is 3 macbook models and 3 macbook Pro models. Don't see why they would change that now, even with a possible case redesign.

Why 3 MBP ? They're so expensive, a very few people are looking for that. No, really 1 MBA, 3 MB and 2 MBP.

But what a good piece of news !

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5F136 Safari/525.20)

I guess we will be seeing the long awaited refresh of the MacBook and MacBook Pro.

Here's to hoping that Apple makes the SuperDrive a standard on all MacBooks; ComboDrives are incredibly prohibitive and backward in today's day.

Why would this Future Shop website get information like that? How credible can this really be?

Future Shop

WOOOWWW, I'm from Québec, the french part of Canada, and all I can say is: VERY RELIABLE!

Future Shop is our Best Buy here and is a MAJOR electronic store. Ok, their warranties suck, but it's not the subject that keeps our attention.

Hopefully 3 new MacBooks and Pros. Or actually if I am talking "hopefully", one MacBook, with 4-5 different models and one generic AppleCare for it.

not sure how to take that. If anyone who has access to futureshop's inventory system can verify these, then I'd appreciate it.

thanks
