I am sure you're right…
Unfortunately these damn things don't spend most of their time far out at sea.

75% of the time they are lying in harbours spoiling the view while their lard-a$$ed passengers spend in the onshore "duty-free" shops.

My grandma lives in that town and I've been to the Meyer Werft (where they are made) many times and it's pretty interesting to see the ships in their different stages of production. One of my friends also lives right along the river where all the new ships must pass through to get to the open sea, and they say it's a pretty big event everytime a new one's finished.
 
SHEER CLASS!!! OMG I so like want to be that classy. If only it was a bit bigger then I would book a trip on the 'Council House of the Seas'
 
Except the sad part is is that in a year or two, this won't even be the biggest ship anymore. Royal Caribbean is coming out with a 5,400 passenger ship, their "Oasis of the Seas" dwarfing this ships 3,000 passengers.

Doesn't that ship look quite top-heavy to anyone? Ok, I'm sure they know what they're doing... but still!

I don't know about most people but I prefer to spend my time on scenic beaches with lots of bikinis, not port docks.

I think that cruise ship was the one, when they launched into the sea, the wave swamped all the spectators.

While I agree that the technical challenges of rotating a 100 storey apartment building on its side, adding half of Las Vegas while turning it all into a floating all-you-can-eat buffet certainly are impressive, the aesthetics leave a *lot* to be desired.
It remains an ugly big barge, IMHO. 😉

Pity there are no icebergs where it's going.
