How can I record from an audio stream on the web

such as the radio over the Internet.

Obviously I can do it with the speakers feeding into the microphone but there must be a better way. Garageband and audacity can only find mic or line in input sources.

This morning there was a programme I wanted to quickly grab and shove on my itouch so that I didn't have to sit and listen to it right that moment.
