Ok, I need help. Let me give you the specs: Powermac G5 DP 1.8 with 1.5 gigs of RAM. I started getting some kernel panics and the system was acting weird, so I called Apple. They told me to do an archive and install, and everything has been working perfectly. All of a sudden, I get 2 kernel panics in one day, something that happened when I first go the mac. The mac is aprox. 2 weeks old. I noticed from frequent monitoring of the memory, when the memory gets low, the computer starts to act weird, and the computer either freezes, or has a kernel panic. I have run cocktail, repair disk, repair permissions countless times. I would run disk warrior, but it can't boot from CD in 10.3. What do you guys think it is? I need HELP!!! Thanks for the feedback

I got the ram when I bought my computer. I got it for free with my rebate. do you think that could be causing it?

Just for grins, toy around with the ram taking them out in pair and seeing if the computer runs any more stable.

RAM and Crashes

I had about 6 months of crashes on wakeup from sleep with my DP1.25. I did things like run the Hardware test app for 24hrs with no issues multiple calls to apple two trips to a repair shop and so on...

On a suggestion from this board, I pulled one sim. (Kennsington Made) and no more crashes.

Replaced it with Apple Memory. Got robbed in the process and I knew it, but after 6 months of crap I wasn't taking a risk.

That was about 4 months ago, haven't had a problem since.

I just ran a apple extended test and it came up with a problem. I am not crazy. Thanks guys for the input. btw, it didn't come up in the standard test.
