Mac OS Extended (Journaled) vs. Mac OS Extended

when partitioning the external hard drive, I am making the bootable part in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) , but the other part wich is to backup my files should I do it in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) or Mac OS Extended ,please?

Stick with Mac OS Extended (Journaled).

Agreed. Mac OS Extended is legacy for pre-10.2. Use Journaled.
