iOS Writing to files outside my App's sandbox?

i'm currently storing data files inside my App's sandbox.. any way for my (jailbroken, non apple sanctioned) app to write to a more centralized directory, such as /var/mobile/Documents ??

i swear i've seen apps that can do this.. no?
