I plugged my ipod into the adapter for my car stereo and cranked the car, but no beep-beep saying it as connected. I looked at the screen and it was blank (it was on b4 I plugged it in) so I unplugged it hit power and then home button, nothing 😱 tried it a few more times still blank, so I plugged it into the speaker system w/charger (Altec Lansing M-602) no power, so I held down the home and power together for a few seconds and BAM! there was the Pineapple 
it was working again, not sure what happened but was scary 😱 hope it was only a fluke 😎
