I got the 2g ipod touch about 2 weeks ago. When I first synced it I noticed the screen was a little weird, so I took it to apple without scheduling a genius appointment, maybe they would have a quick fix or know of the problem since I purchased the first shipment of a brand new product.He says take it home and hard reset it (meaning wipe everything and resync it) It didnt help. The nearest apple is over 40 minutes away so it took me until today to schedule a genius apointment. By now the screen was worse than when i first took it in. The guy looks into the headphone jack and looks at one of the water sensors, and then goes into the back of the apple store. (the jack is still white, it turns red if it gets wet)
He comes out 5 minutes later and says unfortunately that he found water damage??? And if i want the only option i have is to pay 150$ for a new one???
I know for a fact there wasnt any water damage on my part. The thing has been sitting on my dresser in an ipod sock for most of the time ive had it and i havent dared to take it out because there are no cases out yet. WTH!!
I am so anrgy because i think this is linked to the fact that the screen was jacked when i first got it.
I just dropped 229$ on that and am about to spend over 1000 on the new macbook, and they are basically charging me 380 for an 8gb touch!
What are my options, this really sucks because I had a perfectly working ipod touch 1g before i sold it at a loss to buy this.
Edit** by jacked I mean the screen is all discolored, some parts are tinted darker some are lighter, like someone dripped translucent grey paint on the screen
