so... RAM? everybody is saying don't get the Apple stuff. Why?

I'm getting a MacBook on the 14th like so many other MRusers, but i see alot of people ... cant be stuffed writing, refer to title😀
 
so, any brands to get, im wanting to max out my rammage... because i can😀
is generic stuff as good?
 
Personally I use Kingston Ram in my Mac. It costs a lot less than buying from Apple, yet is of equivalent quality.

If Apples prices on Ram were close to that of Kingston or Crucial then I would buy the Apple parts.

For a lot of people who aren't computer savvy, the mere thought of opening their computer is terrifying, and they don't realize how easy it is. For those people, they gladly look at the price and say "I don't have the hassle factor" and pay the money.

It isn't even 15 minutes though, and it is no more difficult than unscrewing a screw and placing a cartridge into an Atari / Sega Genesis / Nintendo 64 (depending on your age).
It is really cake and no one should pay anyone to do it for them, or Apple's markup.
