i really don't get it, why does our iPhone have "push" in settings???

Push is still not develop isn't it? then why have it there as an option to turn it on?? is it solely for marketing purposes? would turning it on drain your battery?

"Push: new data will be pushed to your phone from the server" is that suppose to be a joke?? anyone can enlighten me? 🙂 thank you..

Push is there for email/calendars/contacts for services that support it (MobileMe/Exchange etc).

Push for third party apps is not yet available. So the setting is there for a valid reason, nothing to do with marketing.
