Can the new macbook pros run windows xp via bootcamp? Or just vista?

I ask because my friend recently bought a desktop computer that came with vista, and when he tried to install windows xp it wouldn't allow it, stating that his hardware wasn't compatible. Please let me know, running xp is rather important to me and would be a factor in my decision about buying this sexy new machine. Thank you 🙂

I don't know of a reason why they couldn't, but I will let you know for sure later tonight when I get off work!

i installed vista 32bit on mine last night, but the boot camp utility said i could use an xp disc

.. one thing to note is that you can only use the 9600GT in windows, no switching

this isn't a problem for most people since we boot into windows just to get our gaming fix.. the only reason i installed vista was for DX 10 support

Are you able to right click in Vista? That doesn't seem to be working for me (after enabling the two finger secondary click in the boot camp control panel).

Ahh, I was thinking that it might be a drive thing, but then I re-read what Engadget had to say, and looks like the performance increase they saw is due to something other than Hybrid SLI. Of course, that is not to say that Hybrid SLI is impossible just yet, we just will have to see if creative driver hackers can accomplish the "unsupported"...
