ie. Apple aren't putting in faulty NVIDIA 8600 graphics processors

Any ideas / inside info?

I was really confused about what an 8600 processor was. :)

It doesn't matter if it's "faulty" or not. If you have one, use it, and if it goes bad, take it to Apple.

all 17 inch mbp will have the "faulty" 8600. I think apple stated that all post-april production machines contained faulty 8600. So the "new" 17 inch mbp will definitely have the faulty one.

everyone keeps saying that you can take it to apple, well yeah you can, but only for 2 years, so it goes out a little after 1 year, you get it replaced with another faulty one, it lasts a little over another year and then it goes out again. Guess what now, you don't have any more warranty
