New Macbook and adobe flash problems

Hi I have the new macbook, and I'm having some weird problems with flash. I first noticed it while trying to run steam through crossover. There would be a link on steam telling me to download the newest flash player. I checked and I already had the newest flash player. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but it still won't work. I finally just gave up on trying to use steam, but since then I've noticed that even some websites will tell me I need to download the newest flash. I currently have flash 10.0.12.36. This is really driving me crazy so any help would be appreciated.
