Sometimes when I'm computing my trackpad cursor just freezes.

I remember reading about this in the past with some of the other mac laptops. I think back then it was eventually fixed with a software update.

Has anyone else noticed this on the new Late '08 MBP's?

Today was the first time I used mine for more than a couple of hours. I had the problem intermittently throughout the day. It is also finicky when I try to use the rotate feature every once in a while.

Its kind of aggravating but is more than likely a software update like you mentioned.

The biggest problem I have is that I find my thumb wandering onto the touchpad surface. It plays havoc when trying to mouse and when trying to click.

You mean how the cursor occasionally sticks? Yeah, that's happened to mine a few times too. It seems to have some connection when trying to move the cursor into or off of a menu, or through text. Like it's something in the software that recognizes what the cursor is over that is causing it.

Yeah, that's what I mean. The finger continues to move across the trackpad, the cursor is frozen. Happens intermittently.
