Hey everyone I have a macbook pro (from the Feb '08 Update). I'm running XP on it, and using smcfancontrol to pump the fans up to 6000 rpm. Is this bad for my mac? I'm playing Lord Of The Rings Online while my mac is sitting on an iLap. The Mac is STILL roasting. I'm afraid I'm going to burn either the ilap under my mac, or burn something inside the mac itself.

what do you think?

It's made out of aluminum, of course it's going to feel hot. It's a conductor. Most other laptops also get very hot when playing games, but it's less noticeable because they're usually made out of plastic, which has a much lower rate of heat conduction (it's an insulator).

Get a laptop cooler to help pull the heat away from the bottom of your MBP. Not sure how they work as I've not used one before, but it should help.
