so i have been reading through the forums and the general answer is that 'when looking to write iphone apps, you should start with C'.

therefore, i was wondering if anyone had any free ebooks in which i could start to learn. I know i should by them, but im dishing out $2600 on a new macbook pro to replace my 12inch powerbook.

If you can help it will be great. I will also love to see some of the non-free ebooks.

Thanks again

If you look around on the site linked in my signature, you'll find an ebook version of the programming book I wrote. It's not free (€4.99) but it's optimized for screen reading (i.e. it's not the PDF I send to the printer when you order a paper version of the book).

Have fun programming!

Another good place is on iTunes. Look around at "iTunes University" many free university course are there, lectures and so on. Many of there are introductory CS clases. and it's free.

Look for the Stanford courses. Some very good ones there.
