OMG YES!!! i got a tracking number for my macbook air rev. b!!!
woot looks like they are coming early!!!! i got the 1.86 ghz / 128 SSD... i got next day shipping too... will give impressions if it comes in tomorrow. what is weird is that I ordered next day shipping but it says delivery by November 3. Ill keep an eye on FedEx website and see if it will be delivered tomorrow.
Edit: it seems that the shipments are leaving from China. Last edited by cbflip2000 : Oct 29, 2008 at 09:42 AM. |

My hope is that there is a crate on it's way to Amazon. But I feel Apple will make them wait until mid-November.
BTW what twas your original quoted date?

Well, If others start to report then the stores will be getting them soon.
As I recall, Apple ships the online orders at the same time they begin shipping to stores. (a good arrangement) Amazon is going to wait I would think. |

I ordered 10 mins later than you and nothing good yet for me (still says the 5th for shipping). I'm in the UK though. Fingers crossed because I'm not sure I can stand the wait until the Apple estimate of the 12th!

nice. Most important thing is to check it its moving. I know from experience previously, Apple would give me my tracking number but it didn't move.
so goodluck, i hope indeed, you get it early!!

woohoo! i'll be on my way to the apple store to play with them in a few days now! I wonder if they can run any 3d games at decent framerates on the underclocked gpus. even at mid to low settings, i'd say that's a pretty great achievement for a notebook thinner than my finger.

When you get it, let us know the display model. I want to know if they are using the same display as in the new Macbooks.

From what people say around with new MBs and MBPs is that they run much cooler.
That will be the great advantage for the MBA. BTW, my MBP will be delivered in 1 hour or so to my desk..

I was the one that submitted the news on AI that the Airs ship November 5th, but no luck for me on an early ship date!
Mine is CTO, maybe that's the difference.. |

This is great news as I've been patiently waiting. Did you go with the Solid State drive or SATA?

rofl I love people voting negative on an article about MBA's shipping. Would you rather they not ship them at all? haha
As for the new Air, I'd love to check one out. The 9400m has been pretty impressive so far on my MBP, I imagine it makes a very nice difference on the new MBA.

correct me if i'm missing something here, but how is 1.86 ghz and 128 ssd BTO? or CTO? You don't need to custom anything, it's already an option.
My question was towards lechuga by the way.

Would I usually get a MBA in my hands faster if I bought it from an Apple Store (Manhattan) or ordered it online today? About how much slower do online stores like MacMall get it in stock? I'm trying to determine if I should pay more to get it a few days sooner from Apple, but I might not do so if it's only a matter of a couple of days delay from a reseller.

Where is the MagSafe connector (think about the MagSafe cord for the new 24" monitor)
I'll be curious to hear if the MagSafe connector is still on the left side or not. On the upgraded MBP and MB, all the ports are now on one side (left) of the computer.
I ask because I was very interested in the new 24" monitor and was wondering if the MagSafe cable will be long enough to reach around to the left if the DisplayPort and USB are still on the right. Any thoughts? |

Can't wait for the netbook
really looking forward to the mini version of the MBA, to be announced in January....why do you think they've changed the manufacturing process to allow scaleable versions of the laptops? same look, same materials, different sizes.....

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5F136 Safari/525.20)
I can't wait to hear some real world performance results for the new MBA.
