MY FIX for the Airport Leopard dropouts...

I searched and searched and could not find ANYTHING concrete on my problem.

You all know the problem... Macbook Airport can't see a wireless network. I've actually never had a problem with Leopard until I also configured bluetooth dial up with my cell. I came home from a weekend vacation and my new Blackbook couldn't see my obvious wireless network.

I looked EVERYWHERE. Including the 500 post thread here.

My Fix:

1. Deleted ALL network interfaces
2. Deleted all airport references in KeyChain
3. Repaired permissions
4. Zapped the PRAM
(All that just for good measure.)
5. Created an Airport network connection
6. Created 'other airport connection' and added my other WEP details
7. Added 'closed' network to the ADVANCED tab with the same WEP details

And it's working.... AMAZINGLY... amazing that it's working.

I gotta to tell everyone that I actually had a FREEZE of the OS and needed to reboot in some of these screens. My FIRST OS FREEZE EVER. I'm beginning to loose faith......

I previously posted a fix for this.

1. Delete the network from your network preferences
2. Delete all stored passwords for the network in Keychain
3. Reboot
4. Reenter/rejoin the network.

Much more simple fix. You don't need to zap the PRAM, repair permissions, etc.

I did that with no luck. I know the PRAM and permissions are no real fixers.

Even after doing the things above my wireless network would NOT show up.

You must have had a unique problem then. When I posted the fix, there were a bunch of people who PM'd me and posted replies that it solved their probs.

Maybe there are multiple issues affecting AirPort performance?
