Apple: No New Products Before Holidays

Apple has issued a statement to Macworld clarifying that there are no plans for any new products before the holiday season.
Quote:
“Our holiday line-up is set,” Apple spokesman Bill Evans told Macworld.
This announcement squashes circulating rumors that the iMac and Mac mini are scheduled for updates.

The next major Apple event is Macworld which will be held in early January 2009.

Probably this is window dressing to increase the surprise factor later.
Else it just seems retarded

Yeah, but they left out the part where he said, "Oh, and one more thing..."

Seriously, I don't remember Apple ever saying anything like this.

I'm glad I've got my new MB then. Though I would like to get my mom a Mac Mini. Her iMac G3 CRT is starting to get blue.

Thank you! Do people not realize it's November F'in 3rd already? The "holidays" are around the corner, and so is the upcoming MacWorld. Enjoy the current "new" Macs.

It was a good year. But they still need to fit the Mini in somewhere.

I would guess that the new Mac mini will be in an aluminum enclosure like the rest of the line.

With all of the resources to get the new MacBook and MacBook Pro design going, it probably set back the Mac mini a bit.

Apple realized that they better tell everyone to stop waiting and start buying. Otherwise, they wouldn't sell anything up until Christmas day and be in trouble.

The only reason to say it is to ensure that people don't wait for a rumored update that will never come. This was basically Apple stating that it was safe to buy without risk of an imminent update.

If they only released a Mac mini, the whole product line would have been updated this year...

I don't think that the Osborne Effect will hit Apple too hard right now, not with $25 Billion in the bank.
