Just what society needs with its obesity problem.
Anyone else remeber the "fatties" characters from Judge Dredd?

Just got my hands on episode 2 from the current season.
I like that Fiat 500 Abarth SS...and the version the Stig drove was LHD! I wish we had it in the 'States...Don't tease me Top Gear! ![]() The American car segment was great, made better by the fact that I'm currently located very near the Bonneville salt flats. I've recently been down the very roads the boys drove in Tahoe, Reno and Bonneville. In fact, I was surprised to see the shot of them standing in front of Lake Tahoe...I'd just been there a few weeks ago taking photos in the very same spot! ![]() I also feel compelled to defend Reno, which James "Eurosnob" May called a cackhole...it doesn't have a cosmopolitan appearance, and the casinos make it look gaudy. But it's a western town, and in that context it's quite decent. Make sure to stop at the Nu Yalk Pizza place...good pizza by the slice, NY style, and they are always playing footie (yes, futbol football, not gridiron) on the TV. There are a few very nice brewpubs in town as well. I remember seeing a camouflaged Challenger on the highway back when they were pre-production...they are beautiful cars, easily the best-looking of the retro-musclecars so far. The 5.7 has a lot of oomph and great sound as well, though fuel consumption is horrific. I'm not a big fan of my own domestic auto industry, but hurrah for US cars in this episode! It might be the last hurrah at any rate, since the big three are all headed out of business unless the government bails them out - again. ![]() The Corvette will survive the recession/depression, but I'm afraid that Chrysler is so unhealthy that the Challenger's days might be over, even though the car is barely into it's planned production run.

This can't be true!!
![]() BBC 2 (and BBC 1) transmission (rather reception) has just failed!! Right at the end of Harry's lap. ![]() Must be the bad weather over the North Sea... Have to wait for the torrent or Usenet now. This one is so shaping up to be one of the best. Super funny "race" and the Zonda F vs. the Veyron..!! *weeping* EDIT: PHEW... able to receive BBC 2 right at the end of the "race", and could see the Veyron's 1:18.3 God, I love Top Gear.

Get a UK IP address, it's possible do a google search. Also, your internet speeds will be slower.

Actually thinking about that, it's probably illegal and should not have suggested it... But there's a forum, with all these "tricks"... Should not be hard to find, if your looking to do this sorta of thing...

Damn....I was disappointed in the Bugatti's time, although I expected it though. It's just too heavy.
The rest of the episode was great though. And the VW won! Loved that ![]() Now, why can't we get that VW in the US?

Loved the sound the Bugatti made though, quite a deep rumble.

Did anyone notice that the Veyron had some damage on one of its sills? Wonder if Top Gear pranged it? I assume a wealthy owner lent them it rather than Bugatti?

It didn't exactly look like The Stig had the Veyron on the ragged edge, mind you it didn't look like it had another second in it either!
I would like to know the peak speeds on the straight, I would still think the Veyron would be the fastest down the main straight, it's just those pesky corners... ![]() Quote:

At least they didn't do it on camera (or show it) if they were to blame. Unlike Fifth Gear when Tiff pranged that guy's Maserati MC12.

I was driving behind an 'all white' Bugatti a month ago while i was in Birmingham. I couldn't believe it when i saw it! I never thought I'd see one in my lifetime.
The engine sound wasn't loud at all though. It was behind and then over-took me on a dual carriageway, it was soooo quiet. You can hear a Lamborghini from a mile away. Beautiful looking car though, it was very WIDE and low to the ground.

![]() I'm surprised the Veyron wasn't a little quicker to be honest... not a lot mind, but a little. Can't abide the Zonda either folks, it's pronounced forward cabin layout makes it look proportionately odd and unbalanced (much like a Gandini design) and it looks hideously overweight around it's rear 3/4 haunches. And best not mention its interior... Not that you'll spend much time in it mind, when it seems about as reliable as an Aston Martin.
