Is there a way (free, preferably) that I can access the contents of a data CD that was created in Windows? I don't want to have to use Virtual PC, because all I want to do is drag a whole bunch of MS word and powerpoint files off the CD and onto my mac. But, when I put the CD in my pbook g4, it doesn't even show up on the desktop or anything. Any suggestions? I'm running Panther, if that matters.

Thanks very much!

How did you make the CD? If you made it in DirectCD I'm not sure if it would work unless you use a packet-writer on the mac.

Good question. I just made it using Roxio Easy CD Creator 6 and burned it as a data disc. I didn't choose any special options.

I does work fine on my xp desktop (where I burned it) as well as a dell laptop. 🙁

Make sure you burn it as ISO 9660 (standard) format, sometimes on windows, they burn with windows format.

If not, log out and log in, maybe restart your powerbook?

I never had that problem, but then I don't use Roxio....anymore.
