A while ago the part of the screen that is the second row of apps on my touch screen went dead. I was able to move all the icons to the top row and on 4 different pages but it is still a hassle. The dead touch screen also makes it so i can not enter in numbers since I cant hit the 4,5,6 buttons. I also cant call anyone by going to my contacts and hitting call. I have to go to the contact and either add them as a favorite or open a text message with them and hit call from the text message screen. I have learned how to get around it but it is a pain.

Point is I was wondering if there is somewhere I can send it to get it fixed or if I just have to get a new phone? I have the original iphone by the way.

Apple store, Apple.com.

If the damage to the touchscreen was a defect of the phone and wasn't caused by anything you did and the phone is still under warranty then I would schedule an appointment with a Genius and try to get your phone serviced/replaced. However the damage was caused by you then you are pretty much out of luck, short of buying parts and trying to do a DIY repair.

It has been dropped quite a few times...so basically I just have to get a new phone is what it sounds like everyone is saying

I just had this problem, thought it would be a screen replacement (I'm not an Apple customer), was a "board" issue and needed a replacement.
