We been given a PMG5 2.7DP with no memory or hard drives. We don't know its history. On power up the lights on the motherboard etc come on, the fans whirr and the white light by the power button flashes regularly. We have the correct adapter and a working LCD monitor. No picture. It may be dead! It may just need the correct memory modules? What hardware does a PMG5 2.7DP need to boot? What are the steps needed to establish if the unit is rebuildable? TIA HB

NSW, Australia.
It will need RAM to boot. G5s used paired ram (equal ram sizes in paired slots).

You can power up the Mac with no hard drive, you will be greeted by a flashing question mark, but will let you know it's working (or not) at least.
