Help with an IQ question

Hello all, I took this IQ test online and I couldn't figure out the answer for the following question:

John likes 400 but not 300; he likes 100 but not 99; he likes 3600 but not 3700. Which does he like?
A. 900
B.__ 1000
C.__ 1100
D.__ 1200

I tried several combinations in my head but I can't figure out the answer. Anybody wanna take a shot at it?

i always found this question to be easy on IQ tests... it's every single other math question that kills me

took one that was image based once, for the mensa exam, multiple choice images to a series of alike images... sounds easy, but damn. the series would be something like a tent, a garage, and a refrigerator and the choices would be a bicycle, a fish and a piano... wtf?

Bicycle, it has an 'e' in it.

The image ones get me too. Especially the ones with various lines and curves that have nothing in common.

speaking of IQ

In a report published Monday, the Lovenstein Institute of Scranton,
Pennsylvania, detailed its findings of a four month study of the
intelligence
quotient of President George W. Bush. Since 1973, the Lovenstein Institute
has
published its research to the educational community on each new president,
which
includes the famous "IQ" report _among others. There have been twelve
presidents over the past 50 years, from F.D. Roosevelt to G.W. Bush, who
were rated
based on scholarly achievements:

1. _Writings that they produced without aid of staff
2. _Their ability to speak with clarity, and several other psychological
factors, which were then scored using the Swanson/Crain system of
intelligence
ranking.

The study determined the following IQs of each president as accurate to
within five percentage points.

In order by presidential term:

Franklin Delano Roosevelt [D] _142,

Harry S Truman [D] _132,

Dwight David Eisenhower [R] _122

John Fitzgerald Kennedy [D] _174,

Lyndon Baines Johnson [D] _126,

Richard Milhous Nixon [R] _155,

Gerald R. Ford [R] _121,

James Earle Carter [D] _175,

Ronald Wilson Reagan [R] _105

George Herbert Walker Bush [R] _098,

William Jefferson Clinton [D] _182,

George Walker Bush [R] _091

Mean IQ of Democrats: 155.2
Mean IQ of Republicans: 115.3

Interesting pattern, or biased reporting? We report, you decide...and, in the tradition of the organization who's slogan I'm stealing, we then tell you the answer. Duh...the dems are smarter! Fair and balanced, the way you like it!

If it was "real," it would have been highly-biased anyway. Those criteria sounded kind of sketchy, after all.
