Humidity Proofing

Anyone have any tips on fighting humidity with laptops? I'll be moving somewhere (out of Asuncion and into a jungle climate) where I won't really be able to avoid it. I'll only be using it a few hours a day, since it will have to run off the battery while I am out. But at night I want to be able to store it somewhere to reduce the exposure it gets to moisture (and hopefully extend it's life). I had been planning on a large ziplock with some silica gel packets. Has anyone else come across a different and/or better solution?
