How to transfer music from PC to Mac

I've been a longtime PC user and I just got a new Macbook. How do I transfer my music collection (including ratings, play counts, and playlists) from my PC to my Macbook.

I keep my music in a separate folder than the iTunes folder.

I have an external HD with all my music on it. But what else do I need to copy to transfer the ratings, play counts, playlists, etc?

I think all of that can be found in the iTunes folder. You should see a few .xml and .itdb files in there.

By the way, have you looked at this? Might help you out a bit.
