Proxy applications for Mac

I'm a programmer and usually go to clients for projects. Problem is, clients have firewalls that blocks certain sites, email services, ftp, and IM clients that i need.

I tried using the windows proxy Ultrasurf, but can't get it to work with OSX.

I'm currently using Tor and response time is slow. I'm looking for other alternatives.
