Apple Firmware Updates

Why is it so ridiculously hard to find a comprehensive list of all apple firmware updates or at least a definitive latest firmware upgrade for a particular model of apple computer? I'm looking for the newest firmware for several macs and cannot find this information on apple.com or with google.

Am I just looking in the wrong place?

well if its showing no upates when you click software updates, I guess then there is no update.
and only recently they released airport extreme firmware upate and bluetooth update also..
