Is there anyway possible to be able to use this with another cell phone provider...without just going through AT&T roaming. I think I have to unlock it, which I don't think is yet possible. It just seems absolutely ridiculous that my iphone would now be worthless because I moved. Any help greatly appreciated.

Did you considered selling your current 3G now and then getting a new one in Paris? At the moment there is no timeframe for a software unlock, so your precious iPhone will be limited to AT&T roaming or basic iPod functions for a while.
