iMac G3 Mod

I decided that I will be modding my old 333MHz Grape iMac G3. It works just fine, but I wanted to make it even smalled, and use a nice LCD and dump the CRT.

I am still unsure how I will mod it, but I'm going with the possibilities of a) a set-top box form factor, b) a plexiglass cube/case form factor, or c) a mini Power Mac G5/Mac Pro case.

So far I have gutted it of its main board, power supply board, speakers, HDD, CDROM, and a few other mini boards. The CRT, still inside, is still not discharged as I am afraid I will die. XD

My plan is to put it int an old cable box case, so its like a set-top box, or a clear acrylic case, like the G4 Cube.

I just need to find out how to get it to power on without that board. It is possible, but I don't know what to use to boot it up.

You would have to figure out what signals the analog sends to the PSU to tell it to turn on, and then replicate that with only the power button. IMO as long as the analog board doesn't take up too much space, save yourself the trouble and keep it in your build.

Its a huge board, along with the already huge power supply. I honestly can't put it in, or the case would be huge, and my plan was to make it small.

Also, I have not yet discharged the CRT, and am somewhat afraid to do so.
