I have a quick question. I have to give a Keynote presentation using a VGA connection to a projector. I have a new unibody MacBook Pro with the mini dislpayport connection. Since I already have a DVI to VGA connection from an older PowerBook, would it be possible to just go mini displayport to DVI to VGA using two adapters, or would I need to go directly from mini displayport to VGA using just the adapter that Apple sells for this purpose?

Thanks!

It's much safer to go with miniDP-VGA. I've read on some issues with daisy-chaining miniDP-DVI + DVI-VGA. I think there are some issues with that, unless you go and purchase the other miniDP-DVI, which is actually miniDP to Dual-Link DVI. That's not available yet.

You can't go from MDP-->DVI-->VGA, as the DVI output doesn't carry the DVI-I type signal, its strictly DVI-D (no analogue signal, no spaces for the pins even).

You'll have to go MDP-->VGA directly.
