iPhone developer TapTapTap put together this photo mosaic to mark the 10,000 app milestone in the App Store.

Wow, someone has too much time on their hands! Mind you, with technology these days it may not have been that time consuming.

I love the full-sized one. I've never even seen 95% of these icons before.

I was thinking the same thing

If someone wants to do something similar I can recommed MacOSaiX or MozoDoJo.

They are quite fun and relatively easy to make.

Nice idea. It is pretty cool to look at all the different icons in the full size picture.

Now I want to see a flash version where clicking on the icons enlarges them and provides info on it and a link to the store.
