Having some problems with my printer/scanner through Time Capsule

Hi fellas!

I need some help here. My network solution on my office has it's core on the Time Capsule. I share everything through there: external disk, internet and wireless printer.

Yet I have a problem! The printer connected to the Time Capsule, is also a fax/scanner, but I can't seem to put the scanner to work. I mean, I can print anything from the printer through any computer, yet I can't seem to scan.

It's almost like the printer wasn't connected/installed at all!

Do I have any problem, or Time Capsule just doesn't support this option (scanning)?

I have all the drivers from HP (it's a OfficeJet J4580), so I don't know why I can't scan anything

Thank you very much for all the help.

Printing works because Apple's printer sharing software enables that. They (Apple) specifically state that other functions aren't supported. You should experiment with the open source TWAIN/SANE scanning driver:

Unfortunately, Apple network products don't support scanning over the network.
