I have a 10gb hard drive off the original iBook that had to be replaced. I'm wondering if I can buy an enclosure (or some other setup) in order to transfer the data to my new MBP. Also any advice to retrieve the data off of a failing drive would be appreciated. Thanks.

How do I retrieve data off an original iBook hard drive?

Will the ibook power up at all? You could use Target Disk Mode to access the ibook from another mac.
To clarify, the drive is out of the iBook. It was starting to fail. I'm wondering if it's worth a try to salvage the data on it by purchasing an enclosure, and if so, what kind I should buy. Also, is there some software that would aid it's retrieval?
