Is my 2G now unlocked that I have recently upgraded to 3G? Can I sell it as unlocked or can I get another carrier for myself?

Thanks

No, it is not automatically unlocked when you upgrade. You can, however, unlock it yourself.

Thanks! Would that be "jailbreaking" or is there a legit way to unlock it? Seems like there should be a legit way of unlocking it once I've upgraded.

That would be "unlocking." Jailbreaking is just opening it up for unapproved 3rd party software (basically, it allows you root access to the phone). Unlocking is what unties the phone from the carrier.

In the US there is no "legal" way to unlock the phone, even if you are no longer using it.
