I'd be interested to see this too.

I am curious why the OEM is Octo Only while the retail is All Inclusive.

I am also wondering if the Fan Noise issues that many complain about arise from the iriginal ROM work being done on the Silver Arrow, which I am guessing has a 4 wire fan.

The Retail 3870 is a simpler 2 wire fan, which historically have been far more limited in speed control.

So perhaps the software is delicately adjusting fan speeds but the card is oblivious and only has "Hi" and "Low".

Would also be good to get the ROM to T Perrier, author of the ATicellerator. Would be great if he found time to start up work again on his clocking software.

There is no danger at all doing a ROM dump, just need to use Freedos or it's ilk and run "Atiflash"...it just takes a picture of the ROM, doesn't mod it in ANY way.

Anyone?

My first guess would be EFI64 compared to EFI32.

doubtful.....

I just had a look at a PC 3870 ROM.

It was 62K, of which only the last 10 lines were filler "FFFFF"s

So....chances that the Mac EFI portion could fit in 2K?

Slimski and noneski.

Hold not your breath.
