Mac OS X 10.5.6 Release Imminent... Friday?

Apple has seeded yet another build of Mac OS X 10.5.6 (9G55) to developers. This latest seed reveals no known issues and has addressed a few outstanding issues.

Beyond this, we have heard that Apple has started distributing this particular seed internally outside of the usual developer circles. This would indicate that this is the final version of Mac OS X 10.5.6 before public release. We had also heard unconfirmed whispers that the new version would be made available to the public on Friday, and this new information certainly makes that plausible.

Mac OS X 10.5.6 should be a free update available to all Mac OS X 10.5 customers upon its release.

More stability is welcome.

Looking forward to the MobileMe improvements too!

Key word: Should.

Unless Steve has had an aneurism, it'll be free. This is good news, but 10.5.5 is stable like nobody's business.

Stability is one thing I definitely need. Any other ideas of what could be new compared to 5.5?

I know, I'm trying to think what else they could come up with for the 10.5.6 upgrade, because there isn't much else to do between now and Snow Leopard.

I'm old enough to remember System 7.5.5, probably one the worst OS headaches there ever was.

Is there a changelog from 10.5.5 to 10.5.6 available somewhere? I'm definitely going to install it anyway but it would be good to know what I can look forward to

I hope it comes out today. Whenever it does come out, we should have a better idea of when Snow Leopard Will come out (based on an estimate).

10.5.5 has been very stable for me. No problems at all (touch wood). I wonder what improvements this is going to bring...?

I really doubt Apple would release an update that late. Tomorrow seems the most likely.

I agree, I don't think we will see Blu-Ray drives until 10.6 is released, but maybe Apple release a future update with Blu-Ray support in Leopard.

I don't know, Apple has released many updates in the past late at night. I remember that iPhone 2.2 was that way, but I'm not sure though.

Oh God PLEASE let them finally fix this stupid airport dropout/slow connection problem. It's only in Leopard (post 10.5.2 I want to say). I've tried all kinds of routers, settings, etc. Wifi work fine under Vista 64. Come on Apple.

I just googled the 10.5.6 and the build number and that came up, hardly rocket science

Thank you! I thought it was just me having this problem. If anything else, this is also the one and only thing I want fixed.
